Comprehensibility Check
When we are little kids we like to hear the same stories over and over again. As adults we do the same thing listening to our favorite comedians telling their best jokes. It feels good to know the answer to know what is going to happen next. Not just good, empowering.
If I start talking to you, especially if I start talking to you in English, you don’t know what I am going to say next. What the topic is or what words I will use, and so it can be very difficult to understand.
If you start the talking, you know what the topic is and you can pick the words to use to talk about it. Talking about your topic with your words it is much easier for us to begin a conversation.
